We highly recommend that you stay at Guadalupe Bluff Properties when you take a summer workshop at Texas Hill Country Atelier, or anytime you or your guests visit the Texas Hill Country.
Overlooking the Guadalupe River, each property is meticulously planned and artistically designed by one of our own Atelier artists, Nancy Harte! These hidden jewels are less than five miles from our downtown location, but feel like they are in the countryside.
Expansive views, spacious interiors, and full amenities are just the beginning. They are filled with custom-made furniture and built-ins, and appointed with family heirlooms and found antiques. Each house, designed by theme, is sure to delight visiting artists as well as their families.
Click on each property name, below, to see the gallery of photos for that house.

Wherever you stay, the following will help you decide which workshop to take this Summer. We are excited about our workshops, including our first teen program, the Summer Youth Atelier. Also, mark your calendar for a special workshop in December, when Tenaya Sims returns.
Which Workshop Will You Take this Summer?

The summer workshop schedule begins with one designed especially for art teachers, although anyone may take it. In this workshop, we will paint a portrait in the traditional indirect method, using a Master Portrait Artwork as our reference. This is a great opportunity not only to learn methodology and technique, but also to study portraiture from a Great Master such as Titian, Vermeer, or Bouguereau.
Portrait Painting from a Master Work is a bargain, and is discounted even further for educators. It's coming right up on June 10th - 13th, so sign up soon!

For the first time, we are offering a teen program! The Summer Youth Atelier is bound to be a popular class, once it is discovered. Assistant Instructor of the Core Atelier, Matthew Fielder will lead young artists into atelier training, staring with drawing. Students will work from a live, costumed figure during the second week.
The workshop is ideal for artists aged 14 - 18 years old. It is two week long, Monday through Friday mornings, July 16th - 27th. Save your spot soon because space is limited!

This four day workshop is great opportunity to learn dramatic lighting with the angle of the sun and the color of the landscape. Let Roger Parsons help you hone your artistic vision to arrange light and dark values for a dynamic composition. July 16th - 19th

Egg Tempera paintings are more durable and luminous than oil paintings, and are sometimes described as a "mosaic of semi-precious gemstones." Learn with Holly White-Gehrt how to make your own paint and get hands-on experience using this historic technique. August 25th - 28th
