Drawing Fundamentals

 

​Students will learn the nearly lost lessons of the Great Masters, lessons no longer taught in colleges or universities. Learning these fundamentals will empower the artist with the ability to depict anything they can imagine.

   

The first week will focus on fundamentals, preparing the student to work from life. Topics will include how to render fabric and how to approach the portrait.

In the second week, students will work directly from a live model, dressed in costume. The opportunity to work from life is essential to any artist, and gives the young artist a strong base from which to develop skills and vision.

Lessons in Portraiture

​

Portraiture is perhaps the most challenging and rewarding subject for any representational artists. Learning the classical approach will give the young artist an advantage for all future work.
