Explore the art of landscape painting in oils, with an emphasis on color, light, atmosphere, and developing your own interpretation of the landscape.

This workshop focuses on seeing and mixing accurate color values using warm and cool colors to convey light, atmosphere, and depth. A secondary focus will be mark making, exploring how the application of paint contributes to the overall painting.

Working from enlarged photographic references, artists will have the opportunity to simplify subjects, rearrange elements, and make intentional compositional decisions. Rather than simply copying a photograph, the goal is to create a strong painting that reflects each artist’s personal vision of the landscape.

Roger will provide individual attention and mentoring tailored to each participant, with an emphasis on creative decision-making and problem-solving throughout the painting process.
